Tsadra Foundation is a privately funded nonprofit trust established in New York City in 2000. We provide vital funding for the combined study and practice of Tibetan Buddhism in the west.

Advanced Contemplative Scholarships
From among the 24 applications received this year, 16 individuals - 8 women and 8 men - were selected to receive scholarships for retreats beginning in 2016. Applicants selected will be entering five different retreat centers in North America and Europe.
Applications for scholarships to be awarded in 2017 will be accepted until August 1st, 2016.

The Treasury of Instructions: Essential Teachings of the Eight Practice Lineages of Tibetan Buddhism

Following completion of the translation of Jamgön Kongtrul Lodrö Tayé’s 10-volume Treasury of Knowledge, Tsadra Foundation has embarked on the translation of Kongtrul’s 18-volume Treasury of Instructions: Essential Teachings of the Eight Practice Lineages of Tibetan Buddhism (gdams ngag rin po che’i mdzod).
We are happy to announce that the first volume of this collection to be translated has been sent to the publisher and should appear early in 2016. This volume concerns the teachings from the lineage of Severance (Chöd)
The Nyingma Tradition from Sutra to Tantra

In honour of Lama Tarchin Rinpoche and with deep appreciation for his extraordinary kindness and generosity to a generation of western Buddhist students, Tsadra Foundation is delighted to bring to fruition his long held dream of making this seminal work available to English speaking students. The first volume comprising Books 1-10, Foundations of the Buddhist Path appeared in June 2015; a second volume comprising Books 15-17, The Essential Tantras of Mahayoga will be appearing early in 2016.
